What have we been learning?
The chapters this half term are: 'What Am I?' and 'You Are What You Eat.'. The children have already been doing lots of work on animals and their classification. They willl be learning about humans in more detail and looking at how we grow and stay healthy. You will be pleased to hear that I do stress the importance of an early bedtime and plenty of sleep!
The children are consolidating their core arithmetic skills and using pictorial methods to help embed their learning,
In English the childen are writing longer pieces, incorporating the grammar taught to them this year..

This term in PE we are covering all aspects of athletics. Come rain or come shine!.

Healthy Living Week

It has got off to a damp start, but the children have had a great time learning about all aspects of living a healthy lifestyle. We looked at 4 aspects - sleep, exercise, hygiene and diet.

Class Liturgy - Faith in Action

The children presented a fabulous liturgy explaining how we can put our faith into action and make a difference.

RE - Miracles

This term's topic in RE is the Miracles of Jesus. The children acted as reporters and servants at the Wedding in Cana.

What Am I?

The children have enjoyed sharing their research on animals.

Green Fingers

The children investigated what plants need to help them grow. They were amazed with the results!

RE - Easter Day celebrations!

We had a super day celebrating Easter!

DT - Monster Puppets!

As part of our 'Land of the Giants' topic, the children have designed and made hand puppets. They very much enjoyed bringing their creations to life!

Maths - measuring

We have been learning about standard and non-standard units of measurement. When it came to volume and capacity - we took the opportunity to get the sand out!

PSHE - Games

We played a selection of traditional playground games. They were a lot of fun. We learned how to get along and take turns.

Science - Materials

We explored the properties of different materials to see which ones might make a suitable shoe.

Science - Exploring our senses

We learned about our senses. We really weren't sure about some of the things we had to smell and we definitely didn't like tasting lemons. We did, however, have a lot of fun!

Geography - Our trip to the park

In the autumn we visited the park to learn about the local environment and the human and physical features that can be found there.

English - Funnybones

The children made puppets and acted out the story.
