Reflection & Trust - class virtue

At the beginning of the year, we were given the virtues of reflection & trust, which means reflecting on our actions everyday and trusting in God.

We learnt that reflection helps us evaluate how we act and speak to people and how we deal with situations. We can learn from our experiences and any mistakes that we may make.

In terms of trust, we learnt that it is important to trust God's teaching and learn from the lessons that he gives us. We also need to show trust in others as then they will learn to trust us.

Beyond the classroom

In our class, we are looking forward to a wide range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.

In the Autumn term, we will be going to Armley Mills for a Victorian classroom experience in line with our history topic which is The Victorians.

In January, Year 6 will be heading off to 'High Adventure' for their residential. This will be an amazing 3 days where the children will be given the chance to be active in a number of ways including using zip wires, orienteering and abseiling.

In March, Year 5 will be going to Minsteracres for their prayer residential. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore different ways of using prayer to connect and come closer to God.

Engaging with our learning

In St Mary's this half term, we have been working with a text called called 'Curiosity' to help us with our writing. It focuses on a mission to outer space and explores a wide range of language as the Mars Rover goes out to explore the desolate landscape of the planet.
