Extra-Curricular Clubs

Year 5 / 6 Football Club

Mr Oldfield and Mr Leggett run the football club for Year 5 & 6 throughout the Autumn term. It’s for both girls and boys to consolidate the skills they already have whilst having the opportunity to learn new skills in game situations. It runs once a week ( Mondays this year) and we have had over 40 children sign up for the club.  

External sporting events 

There are a number of opportunities for children at St Joseph’s to participate in sports activities.  

So far this year, we have competed in a separate girls and boys football event, a mixed handball event, a mixed dodgeball event and an SEN athletics event.  

We have Year 2 and Year 4 working hard at their skipping skills at the moment as they prepare for competitions later in the year.  

Events on the horizon – Year 5/6 Tag Rugby event, Year 3 will be going to the Brownlee Triathlon at John Smeaton Leisure Centre, Pudsey Olympics in June for 30 children across the school. 

Other clubs will be organised for the Spring / Summer term. 

Wharf Valley Active 

We use a company called Wharf Valley Active for a number of our after school clubs. They run a number of sports clubs including football, multi-sports and dodgeball as well as Lego and Harry Potter clubs. 

In the spring term, they are running the below two clubs. These clubs will run from 3.10-4.15pm.
