Mission, Vision & Ethos

'As a family, we journey together with Christ,

to learn, help, play and pray with love,

compassion and humility.'

At St Joseph's our mission brings together everything we love about our school, and it reminds us each day of the values we hold dear. Our statement was written collaboratively with the children, staff and parents and encompasses the ethos of our school.

Along with our school motto:

' Facta non Verba'

'Actions not words'

We take pride in the fact that everything we do is underpinned by our mission.

As one of the children said, there are just too many good things about our school,  and we wanted to put them all in, but we have managed to agree on the statement above.

 Our Charities

As part of our mission each class in school chooses a class charity.

Many of these are charities that are close to our hearts and

have supported our own families and our own community.

  • St George's - Yorkshire Air Ambulance
  • St Peters - St Georges Crypt
  • St Marys - Mary's Meals
  • St Andrews - Guide Dogs for the blind
  • St Francis - Emmaus Street Angels
  • St Pauls - Leeds Hospitals Charity
  • St Therese - Help For Heroes
  • St Margarets - Stroke Association
  • St Bernadettes - RSPCA

 Our Faith Groups

As a school we promote many opportunities to make a difference by carrying out actions underpinned by our faith.

Mini Vinnies - Our Mini Vinnie group are a group of year 4 children who are a younger branch of the Saint Vincent De Paul Society. They help with a whole range activities who help and look after others e.g. collecting the food for Foodbank Friday, supporting with litter picking around school and making cards for our local community.

Faith in Action group - The children in our school like to show how their faith is formed and grows by carrying out a range of activities that show how they can use their faith in prayer, in pilgrimage and procession, in the Parish and in Social action. It is an opportunity for them to share their faith with others whilst also reflecting on their own faith journey and grow closer to God.
