St Margaret's Class
Welcome to an insight into St Margaret's class, where we cherish every day to learn and love!
Our main class teacher is: Mrs Longbottom.
Our teaching assistant is: Mrs Milner.
Every half term, our learning is shared through our newsletters:
St Margaret's newsletter Autumn 1 2024Class charity
In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and money for The Stroke Association. This charity is important to us because we have all had some experience of the devastating impact a stroke can have.
We had a wear purple day and sold bookmarks and worry worms. We were so proud to be able to give the money we raised to a representative from the Stroke Association.
Everyone is welcome - our class virtue
At the beginning of the year, we were chosen, as a class, to represent the virtue of self-control.
Evelyn quote: “I can show self-control by being patient with my little brother.”
Alex quote: “A friend in my class showed self- control when they listened to other people in their group, even though they had lots of good ideas to share.”
As always we are very proud of our inclusive attitude and have loved exploring the other faiths and how we can use our Gospel values to link with our British Values.
Beyond the classroom
In our class, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.
Geography.
We went into Leeds to look at the range of land use within an urban environment.
History
As part of our history topic of ‘The Victorians’, we spent a day at Armley Mills. We experienced a Victorian classroom and also learned about the jobs that children had to do.
Engaging with our learning
Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.
Science
We carried out a number of investigations, discovering how light travels and what colours it is made of.
