Class charity

In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and money for St. George’s Crypt. This charity is important to us because we want to make sure that people in our community are supported, have a bed to sleep in at night and have a hot meal. Keep an eye out for our fundraising activities.

Everyone is welcome - class virtue

At the beginning of the year, we were chosen, as a class, to represent the virtue of friendship. We really enjoyed creating posters all about how to be a good friend.

“I can be a good friend by sharing my toys”- Marcie.

“I can be a good friend by helping my friend if they are sad” - Jackson.

Through our learning, we understand the importance of how everyone is unique and special. We learn to respect and love one another through our inclusive days

For antibullying day, the children enjoyed creating posters on how to be a good friend.

In our class, we thought it was important to take time to reflect on ‘Remembrance Day’. One of our activities involved making our own poppy.

In collective worship we have discussed how God made us unique and special and spoke about why we are special.

Beyond the classroom

In our class, we’ve enjoyed a range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.

In Autumn we enjoyed exploring the school grounds to spot the signs of Autumn.

Thanks to the Friends of St. Joseph’s, we loved going Christmas shopping and choosing our own gifts for our family and friends.

We really enjoyed when Leeds City Council’s Story Bus came to visit us!

We enjoyed meeting the cast of the Jack and the Beanstalk production.

Engaging with our learning

Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.

The children have enjoyed exploring the snow outside and came up with fantastic vocabulary to describe the snow. It was a bit cold, but we loved making marks in the snow and creating winter pictures.

We have enjoyed making wizard potions when learning about capacity.

We love reading stories and role playing them using our dressing up costumes.

We have enjoyed taking it in turns to take Barnaby Bear home and look after him over the weekend. We have seen all the fun places that he has been to on his travels.
