Class charity
In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and money for Leeds Hospital Charity. We are focusing particularly on children’s wards. This charity is important to us because some of our friends and family have experienced an extended period on a ward and we would like to make their stay as happy as possible. We collected 31 Advent calendars for the children’s wards. The hospital said they were delighted with our contribution!
Everyone is welcome - our class virtue
At the beginning of the year, we were chosen, as a class, to represent the virtue of trust.
Betsy said, “Trust is extremely important in friendship. If you are trusted or trust someone, then you will be a good relationship. Trust is an amazing virtue to have with someone or with many people! “
Amelie said, “Trust means that you are kind, listen and help each other.”
Joseph said, “We trust in God. He will help us.”
Beyond the classroom
In our class, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.
We took part in a bootcamp activity to develop our resistance and perseverance. The children had a great session and they surprised themselves!
We went on a Geography field trip to Pudsey. We observed the different properties and buildings, different types of transport and any form of green space.
Engaging with our learning
Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.
In Geography, we made a messy map. The children identified key cities in Yorkshire as well as the main road and rivers. They had great fun!
During one of our English lessons, we discussed how important your actions and expressions are and how you would be able to understand a story from miming. The children mimed the stone age boy. They found this tricky to do as they were not allowed to speak but loved it!
In DT, we created designed and created our own baubles for out Christmas tree at home. The sewing was tricky to start with but everyone loved it by the end and made huge progress in their skills.
