St Peter's Class

Welcome to an insight into St Peter's class, where we cherish every day to learn and love!

Our main class teacher is: Mrs Andrews and Mrs McLean on a Monday.

Our teaching assistant is: Miss Khan

Class Charity

In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and money for World Wildlife Fund. This charity is important to us because as we all love and want to care for animals. As a class, we decided to raise money and awareness about endangered animals. Keep an eye out for our find-raising activities!

Everyone is welcome - class virtue

At the beginning of the year, we were chosen, as a class, to represent the virtue of prayer

Willow says: “I can show prayer by closing my eyes and speaking to God.”

Roman says: “I do my prayers at school and put my hands together.”

Through our learning, we understand the importance of how everyone is unique and special. We learn to respect and love one another through our inclusive days (including Anti-Bullying Day, Dyslexia Day and Autism Awareness Day).

In Autumn, for Hinduism Multi-faith Day the children made bracelets to remember the story Draupadi and Krishna and the festival that is called Raksha Bandan to celebrate their story.

Beyond the classroom

In our class, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.

In Autumn:

  • We went on a local walk around Pudsey for some Geography fieldwork.
  • For a fundraising event held by Friends of St Josephs’, we took part in the colour run.
  • We had our Christmas Dinner day and Christmas party where we played lots of games and did some dancing.

In Spring:

  • We learned about animals and their habitats through a trip to Lotherton Hall.
  • The children began to learn the different skipping techniques.
  • Through RE, we visited the church to to learn about being baptised. We spoke to Father Peter.
  • We love to read and had a lot of fun for World Book Day through many activities. We took part in a whole school parade.

In Summer:

Look at for our experiences coming up during the Summer term.

Engaging with our learning

Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.

In Autumn, we looked at how to create different lines and created some whole class artwork whilst listening to music to express our feelings.

In Autumn:

  • We planted daffodil bulbs to explore how they will mature into plants.
  • We love PE and created some routines and learned different ways of moving and rolling across the mats.

In Spring:

  • We created amazing finger puppets in DT.
  • The children enjoyed learning some tennis skills in our send and return unit.
  • We learned about the Titanic and its journey, some artefacts and why it sank.

In Summer:
