Trips and Residentials

At St Joseph's we love to give the children a range of opportunities to be able to experience activities and events. One of the highlights of our year are the year 5 residential to Ministacres and the year 6 residential to Kingswood activity centre.

Year 5 residential to Ministacres

Our prayer residential

In year 5 the children go on a two day residential to Ministacres in Northumberland where the children take part in a Prayer retreat.

Our Nature Rosaries

One of the activities the children take part in is making the prayer rosary out of items the children could find in the woodland area. We talked about what the rosary was made up of and they used twigs, pines cones etc to construct it. We then said a section of the rosary.

God is with us in our everyday lives

The children get the opportunity to see that we are able to was link everyday objects to God and prayer...for example a set of headphones we could link to enable us to listen to the word of God. From these ideas the children wrote prayers.

The children also had the opportunity to tell stories to their friends just as Jesus did to his friends.

Thank you for our beautiful world

Our nature walk allows us to celebrate and understand God's world. It focuses on our 5 senses to interpret the different elements of nature.

Year 6 residential to Kingswood

In year 6 the children get to go for a weeks residential to an outdoor activity centre there they get to experience a whole variety of activities that they may have not tried before.

It is a wonderful opportunity for them to try new things, set themselves a target and possibly challenge themselves with new skills!
