Monday 3rd June - School Trip!

St Paul's class enjoyed their day in York. We visited, 'The Dig' where the children had the opportunity to find out about and dig for artefacts. We then visited 'The Shambles' and observed the Tudor houses. Finally we visited 'Barley Hall' where a wealthy Tudor family once lived. The children had an amazing day, they learned lots and loved this experience of first hand Tudor life.

Geography

In Geography, we have been learning about and comparing England, Northern Ireland, Poland and Mexico. As part of this topic the children enjoyed using ordinance survey maps to develop their map reading skills. We then went on to make messy maps of the Capital cities in each of the countries.

Cuisines from around the world!
We loved making food from other nations as part of our Geography topic, Let's Go on Holiday!
Y4 Skipping Competition
Year 4 have gone skipping crazy this year and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the skipping competition this year!
History
Our History topic in Spring was Egyptians. The children enjoyed making scarab beetles and Egyptian necklaces in Art which linked to the theme.
Literacy
Following the Jungle Book play that visited school, we took part in some drama and writing activities linked to the Jungle Book theme.
World Book Day
In St Pauls, we love reading and love dressing up as our favourite characters!
D&T
Linking with our Jungle Book theme, our class created pneumatic toys using different animals as our inspiration!
St Paul's class organised a toy sale to raise money for a homeless charity. The children talked about seeing homeless people when they were out with their families and they wanted to help.
The charity that we chose was Emmaus, Leeds.
Their toy sale raised £287!
