Maths learning...

St Therese enjoyed a trip to the Yorkshire Arboretum for a maths focused trip. Some of our tasks included measuring some of the environmental features within the grounds and doing some statistical analysis of some of the wildlife found in the forest.

Art learning...

One of our art projects this year has been to study the life and work of Andy Warhol within the Pop Art movement of the 1950's and 1960's.  We enjoyed looking at the different pieces that have been created through this period and then had some good fun creating our own pop art with a personal touch.

Design Technology learning...

Related to our Vikings History topic, our D.T project was to design, make and evaluate our own Viking ship. We learnt new skills such as sawing (under the careful watch of the teaching staff) and sticking the wood using wood glue. We had to be very patient in letting it dry before we added the mechanical elements to the design so our mast would move up and down. We had great fun!

Maths learning...

In St Therese, the children use a range of resources to develop their mathematical skills.  These games allow them to achieve a greater understanding of the different objectives they are working on, particularly focused on number.

Art learning...

Another of our art projects focused on the technique of pointillism. We started by investigating colour mixing by working with the primary and secondary colours. Then we applied some of our mixing to a sketch that we had created and trying to fill the colour using pointillism. We were very proud of our work.

In February, Year 6 had the most wonderful experience at Ingleborough Hall. Memories to last a lifetime!
